How we work

Step by step

Our aim is to offer different opportunities to connect and learn, including but not limited to: ESL classes, resume building, interview etiquette coaching, self defense training, mental health resources and awareness, workshops on reproductive health, women's rights, and sexual trauma and healing. We also want to create a safe space for Muslims who identify as LGBTQ+ and their families, and help facilitate dialogue when needed.

Working locally, thinking globally

New Jersey has the highest percentage of Muslims of any state in the country. We recognize that a significant portion of the population of Muslim women in New Jersey is made up of immigrants, and we must be sensitive to the cultural differences we come across. The diversity of languages and cultural norms is important to us, as we seek translators and volunteers from all corners of the globe. We aim to make an impact that reaches each of the diverse cultures found in the Muslim world, to ensure inclusion and to make our foundation accessible to all Muslim women.
